The structure includes conference halls, lecture halls, computer center, meeting hall, and a plaza area which links the conference hall and computer center.
Exterior stone cladding, double-glazed windows, and copper sheeting on the roofs give the structures a distinctive look. The internal finish consists of gypsum plaster, acoustic plaster, and wood paneling, Granite, marble access flooring, GRG, PVC, and other special finishes were used for walls and ceilings of the amphitheatre, meeting halls, lounge, and auditorium. The 300-seat meeting hall and the 1200-seat auditorium are provided with the latest technology in the audio-visual and translation systems.
All the buildings are equipped with CCTV security system, HVAC, paging and sound systems, fire alarms, door-monitoring system, etc,
The same area which once housed the Shuwaikh High School now projects a novel look without losing the old grandeur. The earthen globe has been replaced by a beautiful granite ball fountain with the world map engraved on it.
It reminds the old timers of their good old school days. The globe itself is two metres in diameter.
The buildings are fully air-conditioned with fire-protection devices (hose-reel and sprinkler systems and FM-200 system for the computer area). |
